SNAKES & ADDERS - 10th Oct 2008
Arachnaphobes among the audience of Year 7 & 8 students kept well to the back of the laboratory when Repto-Bug presenter Joe de Witt Vine brought some of his favourite creatures to Grenville College last week. Invited by Head of Science Steve Gurr to run a lesson, Joe combined erudition with entertainment as he introduced a tarantula, a bearded dragon, a cockroach [which at one point he appeared to eat] and a six foot constrictor snake to the students, nearly all of whom were eager to have a “hands-on” experience to remember.

ROCK & SHORE BIOLOGY - 17th Sept 2008
Upper Sixth Biology students can be seen here investigating the biodiversity of the local seashore at Abbotsham Cliffs near Westward Ho! A wonderful opportunity to explore the coastline 10 minutes from school. Everyone had a great day, all got down to the serious business of "sampling", some enjoyed wearing their wellies, others enjoyed lunch, some got excited at the discovery of a fairly large crab and all learnt a great deal.
