It was also very emotional, moving many students, and members of staff to tears! For a number of the younger pupils this was their first trip to London so they were excited to see The Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

INTER HOUSE PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
October 2008
The Winners of The Public Speaking Competition were Atlantic House, regaining the trophy which they won in 2005 and 2006. It was a very close contest and judge Peter Burford found it difficult to separate Atlantic and Tarka. In the end Atlantic triumphed with speeches on Children's Rights, Decision Making and Communication. The individual Intermediate section was won by Tarka with a speech about the Oxford / Cambridge Boatrace. Peter Burford praised all the competitors and encouraged them to have more confidence in their public speaking abilities.
Pictured below are individual trophy winners Lauren Kandasamy, Chloe Marsden, Alice Jackson and Charlie Woolcott, wih Judge Peter Burford.
