Rowing at Tamar Lakes
In addition to sports matches, which may take place after school or at weekends, around sixty different extra-curricular activities are available to pupils throughout the College, from Junior School to Sixth Form. Many of the activities utilize the talents of our own staff, others are provided by outside organisations.

Design Technology Workshop

Along with mainstream sports, art, technology and music, the remarkable range on offer includes organic gardening, meteorology and surfing.

Surf Club at Westward Ho!

Pupils can test themselves by taking up the physical challenge of the Ten Tors Expedition and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, for which Grenville College is one of only five independent licensing operating authorities in the South West.

Gymnastics
Our proximity to the Torridge estuary and the coast at Westward Ho! enables us to offer a variety of water sports, too. We have a thriving Rowing Club which rows in the estuary and at local lakes as well as competing nation wide. Our Surf Club meets weekly, 10 minutes from the College at Westward Ho! beach, and also has a competition team. Climbing at The Mill

Every Grenville pupil is encouraged to participate as fully in these extra-curricular activities as in the daily timetable of academic subjects, sport, drama, art and music.

Walking on Dartmoor

The Senior School activities programme runs during lunchtimes and after normal lessons, from 4pm to 5pm during the week.
Many sports and outdoor activites are organised at the weekends, along with trips for the Boarding Community.
