| Boarders at the College are accommodated at the Moreton House site in three boarding houses adjoining the sports fields and gardens. The girls currently occupy the top floors of the main house with several rooms situated with wonderful views over the gardens. The boys are housed in two, more modern, purpose built boarding houses overlooking the playing fields. |

Boarding life is well ordered, but time is put aside each day in which boarders can have time for themselves. The balance between formal study, play, activities and the use of the communal areas gives all the boarding houses a positive atmosphere that has been commented on in boarding inspections.

The College is moving away from dorms at all ages towards single, double and fours, with the general premise being that the older boarders have the single rooms. The rooms are designed as bed-sits and allow for areas to be made homely.

Throughout the week, boarding staff arrange activities for the students in their care. This is in addition to the College's sports programme and comprehensive whole school "After Hours" activity sessions. Opportunities range from Christmas shopping in Exeter to horse riding on Exmoor and taking part in the wide range of outdoor pursuits that are available in our area.

|
On most Sunday evenings boarders attend Chapel held in the Moreton House Ballroom and led by the College Chaplain. Occasionally we all attend one of the local community Church Services.

Boarding at Grenville is home to a wide range of nationalities from Europe and the Far East, as well as several more local students who weekly board. There are a number of students who have parents in the Armed Forces or who are involved in work overseas that requires them to move around the world.
|
This range of experience brings with it a real spirit of togetherness that is supported by the whole staff of the College.
If you would like to find out more about becoming a border at Grenville College, please contact Caroline Bailey the Admissions Secretary via the "Admissions and Visits" link.
